About Andrew and No Guts No Glory

A peer voice for a season that does not come with tidy answers.

If your wife has left, you may not need a polished biography. You may need to know whether the person writing understands the ground he is standing on.

Scope: This resource is for Christian men whose marriage is ending or has ended without children from the marriage. It is not a parenting, custody, or co-parenting guide.

Where CDR, NGNG, and The Reforged Man fit

Christian Divorce Recovery is the focused entry point for Christian men whose wives have left, or who are separated or divorced after their wife has left, when there are no children from the marriage. It offers practical orientation, faith-informed reflection, and guidance toward qualified human help for men who are trying to find their footing.

It is not the whole No Guts No Glory story.

No Guts No Glory (NGNG) is the wider Substack and testimony home. It holds stories of how God met me in the wilderness, guided me, and began healing and changing me. Those stories are for any Christian who happens to discover them. They are not limited to men going through divorce, and they are not presented as a formula that God must repeat in someone else's life.

The Reforged Man is a focused section within NGNG. It goes deeper into what was happening beneath the surface: how God used the wilderness to expose, reshape, and re-form me; how my outlook changed; and how a new hope began to grow for a life of adventure with God as He led me into fresh assignments.

The relationship is simple:

  • Christian Divorce Recovery: the focused front door for struggling Christian men who need a wise next step.
  • No Guts No Glory: the wider testimony, encouragement, and Substack home.
  • The Reforged Man: the deeper formation and transformation path within NGNG.

A man may first find CDR because his marriage is ending. If he wants to understand more of the longer transformation behind the testimony, CDR can point him toward The Reforged Man and the wider NGNG writing. That is an invitation to explore, not a promise that his story will follow mine.

The Reforged Man is not therapy, legal advice, crisis care, or a guaranteed recovery program. It does not replace qualified pastoral, medical, therapeutic, legal, or safety support. It is a testimony and formation pathway: an account of what God was doing in my life, offered in the hope that it may encourage someone else to look honestly at his own life and the next assignment in front of him.

Why does NGNG exist?

NGNG has an awkward name, which is appropriate. Going forward does not always mean charging ahead with a heroic grin. Sometimes it means getting out of bed, telling the truth to one safe person, or not sending the message you drafted at 2 a.m.

NGNG exists for Christian men whose wives have left and who are facing separation, divorce, or the uneven work of rebuilding afterward. You may be angry with God, ashamed of your own behavior, unsure what to tell the church, or quietly frightened of the life waiting on the other side of the marriage.

The pages offer faith-informed encouragement and practical perspective. They are not a slogan, a forced outcome, or a substitute for wise counsel, safety planning, grief support, legal advice, medical care, therapy, pastoral care, or crisis help.

Who is Andrew?

I am Andrew, the man behind NGNG. My own marriage ended. I know something of the shock, grief, loneliness, faith questions, and awkward church moments that can follow. I am not writing as a pastor, lawyer, clinician, prophet, or distant commentator who has never had to face a changed home.

I am a peer. I can sit with difficult questions and offer a place to start. I cannot assess your safety, determine your legal position, settle a denominational question, or guarantee what happens next.

What did the end of your marriage teach you?

A marriage ending can unsettle your identity, home, friendships, plans, church life, and the story you thought your life was telling. When there are no children from the marriage, other people may assume the situation is straightforward. It is possible to be grateful that children are not caught in the conflict and still mourn deeply for a hoped-for family and a future that did not come to be.

Faith did not make those questions disappear. It gave me somewhere to bring them. I have had to learn that trusting God is not the same as claiming to know exactly what God will do next.

A walk, bike ride, or useful work with your hands can help you get through a day. It cannot answer every question, but it can interrupt the conversation with your own worst thoughts. Small acts of order still count when the rest of life feels unsteady.

What NGNG does not offer

NGNG does not provide therapy, medical care, legal advice, crisis intervention, or guaranteed reconciliation. It does not replace a qualified pastor, lawyer, medical or mental-health professional, domestic-violence advocate, or emergency service.

If you are in danger, being threatened, dealing with stalking or coercive control, or worried that you may harm yourself or someone else, seek immediate local help. Do not use theology to pressure yourself or another person to remain accessible to harm.
